Treatments at Chiro du Plateau

A chiropractic session with Dre Claveau usually starts with a period of relaxation with heat pads that allows your muscles to relax.

Thereafter, the regions are treated using chiropractic adjustments (manipulation/joint mobilizations) and work on the muscles and other soft tissues (ligaments, tendons, etc.). Note that we also have tools that allow a chiropractic adjustment without the cracking sound. This intrument is called the Activator.

Depending on your condition, it sometimes recommended to combine chiropractic treatments with massage therapy in order to obtain the most benefits from your treatment.

Active Release Technique:
The purpose of this technique is to manually break the adhesions and restrictions in muscles, tendons and ligaments as well as at the level of associated nerves. The patient performs a specific movement as the chiropractor makes proper contact on the soft tissue. This tension breaks the scar tissue and allows the muscle to heal while maintaining flexibility.

Webster Technique:
This specific technique for pregnant women focuses on the balance and optimal function of the pelvic bone to facilitate pregnancy and childbirth. In addition, this technique promotes optimal positioning of the baby’s birth.

Activator Technique:
This is a gentle chiropractic technique without the "cracking" sound using a percussion instrument.
